The role is a permanent role, based in Sydney NSW.
The remuneration package is $110K + Super.

CEVA Logistics Database Administrator
Primary Roles
* Responsible for installing, upgrading and maintaining the corporate ingres, sql server and oracle databases
* Responsible for insuring that CEVA Logistics is in compliance with licencing requirements agreed with the vendors
* Responsible for creating primary database storage structures (tablespaces), once application developers have designed/purchased an approved application
* Responsible for monitoring and optimizing the performance of the database and offering assistance to developers in optimizing their applications, queries, etc.
* Responsible for planning for backup and recovery of the databases. The DBA will not have responsibility for the actual physical backup or physical retention of that information. * * Performing weekly/daily housekeeping tasks required by the business
* Will act as a liaison between CEVA Logistics and vendor(s) for technical support, upgrades, bug fixes, etc. as necessary
Skills Required
* Minimum 5 yrs of DBA experience (Expertise in Ingres databases on a UNIX environment preferred)
* System Analysis & Design skills - Must take an active role in the analysis and design of new database systems. Hence, knowledge of data flow diagrams, data dictionary techniques, CASE tools, Entity-relation modeling and design techniques.
* Database Design skills - Knowledge of database normalization theory, schema design, and data modeling techniques.
* Data Security skills - An understanding of relational database security.
* Backup and Recovery skills - Many backup and recovery methods involve third-party software, and the candidate should have real-world experience implementing backup and recovery methods.
* Change Control Management skills - Implementing change control and insuring that changes to the production database are properly coordinated. Knowledge of third-party change control tools is beneficial.
