Don't consider this noise by any means.  This is exactly the sort of
feedback we need from users!  Anyplace that we're using /bin/sh with
bash-specific functions is a bug and needs to be treated that way, so
thanks for pointing this out.  FWIW, J Hankinson is working on DEB
packages for the next stable release, so theoretically we should have
all the bugs worked out of Ubuntu builds by then.
