Datallegro's intent is to submit all relevant changes to Ingres back
to Ingres Corp. The only changes we haven't submitted back are
changes that either a) we feel are unripe for public consumption,
or b) things that are so peculiar to our environment that we can't
imagine anyone else wanting them. (At the moment I would say that
we have two or three of the former, and one of the latter.)
I don't see us doing any sort of secret-sauce changes to Ingres.

So I guess that the best answer to your question is that yes, Ingres
is being developed and maintained jointly, but it's more along the
lines of a community effort rather than a fork or proprietary version.
