[Info-Ingres] Time to say goodbye to the 2k page size?

Hi Simon et al,

You've been able to set the configuration parameter 'default_page_size'
to choose default page size since II2.6.

I believe the default setting of 2048 will be lifted in later releases.
But I don't see that as a big deal.

I like the idea of having another default for 'default_index_page_size'.
Have you suggested this as an enhancement request to IngresCorp?

Is it time to say goodbye to the 2k page size? I say yes, except for
secondary indexes. It peeves me that 2k pages are the default, but it
also
peeves me that tables and secondary indexes have to have the same
default
size. Perhaps these things are addressed in Ingres 2006R2 or can be in
2006R3.
